Comedy Central may never be able to recreate the magic that was the Chapelle’s Show(Chocolate News and to even lesser extent Mind of Mencia), however they may have come very close with Key & Peele. It’s a different show than Chapelle’s, at the same time they remind me of each other. Both shows tackle matters of race and identity doing so in a very humorous, yet very smart way. They also have this ability to go from satirical social commentary, to just silly absurd goofiness. If you know me, then you know the latter is something near and dear to my heart.
Props to Comedy Central for that hot young second season renewal.

My new years eve was rather tame. I fell asleep around 10 pm ish. I woke up at approximately 4 am and boom, I was thrusted head first into the future. A future where Cappadonna’s “The Pillage” and Dilla’s “Ruff Draft” played back to back on loop as I drifted right back to sleep. Outside of writing some raps that’s about all I did really. But it was cool to have kind of a low key night, it gave me a chance to also reflect on my life and where I’m going. Read more…
